Praise for the
Milkweed Triptych
"A major talent... I can't wait to see more."
—George R. R. Martin
"Mad English warlocks battling twisted Nazi psychics? Yes please, thank you. Tregillis's debut has a white-knuckle plot, beautiful descriptions, and complex characters-- an unstoppable Vickers of a novel."
Cory Doctorow on Bitter Seeds
"Ian Tregillis triumphantly concludes his astonishing, brilliant, pulse-pounding debut trilogy, The Milkweed Triptych."
Cory Doctorow on Necessary Evil
"Tregillis' conclusion of the Milkweed Triptych is the pièce de résistance of the series. Necessary Evil is a perfect marriage of science fiction, fantasy and alternate history."
RT Book Reviews (4.5 stars, Top Pick) on Necessary Evil
"Darkly fascinating…A thoroughly fascinating conclusion to an imaginative tour de force."
Kirkus on Necessary Evil
"A cross between the devious, character-driven spy fiction of early John le Carré and the mad science fantasy of the X-Men... Despite the jaw-dropping backdrop and oblique plotting, the narrative is driven by character and personal circumstance...
Grim indeed, yet eloquent and utterly compelling."
—Kirkus on The Coldest War
"The characters come alive via [Tregillis's] imaginative dialogue and his storyline will keep readers spellbound and on the edge of their seats with an intense sci-fi/alternate history thriller plot."
RT Book Reviews (4.5 stars, Top Pick) on The Coldest War
"Well-drawn characters and a feel for time and place make this an excellent journey into an alternate Britain."
—Library Journal on Bitter Seeds
"Engrossing... Tregillis ably mixes cold war paranoia with his mythology."

NOW OUT in the UK: THE COLDEST WAR
Thursday, February 7 2013, 12:22 AM

Thanks to the great folks at Orbit Books, the second book of the Milkweed Triptych, The Coldest War, is now out in the UK!

(And to celebrate, 2000 AD is giving away 5 copies of both Bitter Seeds & The Coldest War in their February 6 print issue!)

It's very exciting to see this book finally make its way across the pond.  (And check out that fantastic cover art!  Both editions of this book, UK and US, have been favored with terrific covers.)

I'm very pleased that The Coldest War received such a warm welcome when it hit shelves here in the US this past summer.  I hope this release brings it into the hands of even more readers, and that folks enjoy the continuing (mis?)adventures of Will, Marsh, Klaus, and whatsherface.

This is also exciting because it means the US and UK publication schedules are now synchronized for the final book of the trilogy!  Necessary Evil will be coming out from Tor in the US and Orbit in the UK simultaneously on April 30, 2013.  That's less than 3 months away!

I saw the title of this news story and thought of the Coldest War: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-02-08/police-suspicious-of-liquid-found-at-titans-hq/4507710 . Pity that the story this time around is just so mundane.

I think we can agree that crude attempt to beat a drug test wasn't instituted by a precog. Clairvoyants are much more subtle when they cheat...
